Within this diverse collective, owners, crew, and fleet leaders are building our fleet based upon a shared love of their Corsairs and a deep competitive spirit. Build friendships, develop new skills, share strategies, and have fun. That’s what it’s all about. Get ready to see the power and precision of 6 Corsair 880s racing in the 2024 Corsair 880 One-Design Racing Series.
One-Design is a form of racing where all boats are virtually identical or similar. Class-legal boats race each other without any handicap calculations, start simultaneously, and the winner is the first to cross the finish line.
Have you done any racing?
If you are a beginner racer, ideally, you want a boat where you will have fun sailing in a fleet with people who will have fun on and off the water and help you learn the ropes and improve. If you haven't raced already, racing with someone else will help you get competent much quicker than going out and trying it on your own. Knowing how the starts work, what to expect at mark roundings, seeing the rules in action, and learning a little about tactics are all less stressful to learn as a crew than to try to figure out on the fly on the helm.
What is ORCA?
Ocean Racing Catamaran Association promotes multihull racing in Southern California. ORCA helps establish local ratings for various multihull designs and works with local race organizers to encourage multihull participation.
