Trimaran Training Clinics from 180 Marine

Did you know that 180 Marine is the only Corsair Dealer in the U.S. providing customized training clinics on a regular basis? Our clinics are affordable, inspirational and our reviews are great! Our multihull trainers have extensive trimaran experience, having sailed and raced high-performance trimarans in some of the most demanding conditions around the world.

Our Trimaran Sailing Clinics are designed to provide the essential foundations of sailing skills on a Corsair or Dragonfly trimaran. Learn how to sail your trimaran even better… or sample what Corsair and Dragonfly trimarans are like to sail. Participants gain extensive hands-on experience, building the necessary sailing skills and knowledge.

Our gracious trimaran owners have agreed to help build the trimaran community by allowing us to use their boats for demos and training. Our demos and training clinics are often held in Long Beach, CA, an excellent location for predictable wind conditions.

180 Marine offers three options to experience a Corsair 760, the Corsair 880 and the Dragonfly 28.

FIVE-HOUR SUITABILITY TRAINING - Are trimarans perfect for you?
Using the modern Corsair trimarans as our teaching platform, we begin with on and off-the-water demonstrations of unique trimaran dynamics.
• Six spots are available each month
• Cost: $698 per person.

TRIMARAN WEEKENDS!
Three days of training on and off the water, covering the “essentials” of trimaran sailing. Docking, safety procedures, sail management, sail trim, boat handling, downwind sailing techniques, and spinnaker handling are included.
• Ten spots are available for this exclusive experience. We usually have 2 to 3 boats available and three skippers/trainers.
• Cost: starting at $1,298 per person

PRIVATE 1:1 TRAINING
Here, you’ll have a skipper who will focus on your sailing goals using a Corsair or Dragonfly trimaran. Whether you’re just starting on your sailing journey or have years of experience, we can match you with the best skipper for your training.
• Cost: quoted by the day, based on your sailing experience level and sailing goals.

BAMA Double Handed Farallones
The course has racers starting in the early morning off Baker Beach, rounding the Farallones in either direction and then finishing off the Golden Gate Yacht Club race deck. Covering a total distance of 54nm, the conditions for the DHF can be challenging, testing a double-handed crew’s stamina and seamanship. The race requires that participating boats meet the NCORC’s offshore safety requirements and that participating sailors study offshore safety topics and practice person overboard recovery before the race.

Our instruction is extremely comprehensive. We believe strongly that the best way to learn how to sail is by actually sailing!  And with a maximum of three sailors per boat, all sailors are certain to receive plenty of personal attention. Participants gain extensive hands-on experience, building the sailing skills and knowledge specifically for sailing a trimaran.

We’ve been sailing Corsairs and other trimarans for over 30 years and are happy to share our experience.
