Here’s what sets the 970 Carbon apart:

Performance

• Carbon fiber laminate is used on the inner and outer skins and all structural reinforcement, over a closed-cell PVC foam core with vacuum-formed vinylester resin. Less weight means faster acceleration and better light-air speed.

• Carbon spars and upgraded Aramid sails give the 970 hull more power — it’s the high-performance version of an already quick, comfortable boat.

• Rig is a 12 m carbon rotating wing mast with Dyneema shrouds and a carbon boom, plus a high-aspect carbon daggerboard, flip-up rudder, and retractable carbon bowsprit.
  

• Trailerability and shallow draft

  • Folded beam is just 8'4" (2.55 m), and hull-only draft is 1'5" (0.45 m), so you can trailer it, beach it, and reach water most keelboats can’t.

  • The folding system has been proven on more than 2,000 Corsairs.

    
    Comfort

  • About 15% more interior space than the C31, full standing headroom in the saloon, a larger galley, longer bunks, and an enclosed head. ngyachting

  • A longer cockpit, aft-deck mainsheet track that keeps the cockpit clear, and raised side seating borrowed from the C37.

  • It replaces the Corsair 31, which sold 303 boats, so it builds on a proven design.
