Dragonfly 25 Touring
The Dragonfly 25. The boat is a multifunctional multihull and can easily be sailed and handled single-handed. You can keep the boat moored folded in a normal narrow marina slip. Look no further if you want something fun, fast, stable, and easy to single-hand or short-hand sail. The Dragonfly 25 touring is a blast to sail, and you will love all the features this Trimaran offers.
Here's a breakdown of what makes this model so appealing:
The Dragonfly 25 Touring:
Performance: Known for being fast and exhilarating to sail, with reported top speeds of up to 21 knots and comfortable cruising speeds around 8 knots. The trimaran design offers exceptional stability.
Foldable "Swing Wing" System: A defining feature of Dragonfly boats. The amas (outriggers) can be easily folded in (in about 30 seconds per side!) to reduce the beam from nearly 19 feet to just 7.5 feet. This allows it to fit into a standard marina slip or be easily trailered.
Trailerable: With a total weight including the trailer around 3,500 lbs (1,800 kg), it can be towed by a medium-sized family car, opening up a huge range of cruising possibilities. Set-up from trailer to sailing can be as quick as 30 minutes with two people.
Single-Handed Capability: Designed with all sail controls led to the cockpit and a self-tacking jib, making it very manageable for one person.
Shallow Draft: With the centerboard up, the draft is only about 1.15 feet (0.35m), allowing you to explore shallow coves, glide up to beaches, and even dry out.
Quality Construction: Dragonfly boats are built by Quorning Boats in Denmark, a family-owned company with a reputation for high-quality, hand-laid fiberglass construction with Divinycell foam core for positive buoyancy.
Touring Features: The "Touring" edition typically includes an aluminum rotating mast (lighter than the Sport's carbon mast but still efficient), a furling self-tacking jib, classic mainsail with stack pack and lazy jacks, and a 6hp Yamaha outboard.
Interior: While compact for a 25-foot boat, the interior offers sleeping for up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children, with a V-berth forward, convertible saloon table, and space for a chemical toilet. Some models may have features like a boom tent to expand living space in the cockpit.
