Corsair 760R Review

It takes time, expertise and patience to commission 2 new Corsair 760’s

"I want to thank you both for the time spent this past weekend commissioning my new 760R.  I can’t tell you how valuable the experience was for me.  I felt like a sponge attempting to absorb all the information Richard was imparting.  Richard, you are a natural teacher/leader—not sure how you remain calm in every situation—always coming up with a thoughtful plan and executing without a hitch.  One of the greatest lessons of this weekend is watching how you react to unexpected and sudden events sometimes emergent – not too dissimilar to heart surgery—I wish I had more of your calm demeanor—something to emulate."

Wow, thank you, Michael, for being a great new customer and friend.

We did have a very busy week bringing 2 new Corsair 760Rs to life in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

These boats don't come ready to sail out of the box. There's a lot of tedious work to be done for sure. And it has to be executed without error.

Time to unpack...First off check all inventory that was sent from the factory. Okay, we're good to go. Attach amas to the beams, fold, and test, adjust the trailer, fold and test again. Attach all the nets, attach the running rigging. Check sails, clean battens, attach jib roller furling system. Ready to raise the mast. Check the motor. Ready to launch?

Note that this photo of a Corsair 760R chainplate was getting ready to sail. Before sailing be SURE to add safety wire to ensure the pin cannot come out, Many owners tape the pin and safety wire to keep it from snagging the running rigging. If you use tape alone, please don’t. It can be pulled away by a spinnaker sheet. Twice we’ve seen leeward shrouds come loose on Corsairs while sailing! This creates a needless pucker factor while your crew re-installs the pin before your next tack or gybe.

Time to get out on the water and see what this Corsair 760R can do! We had 15-knot winds and flat water!
