The latest edition of our 2025 Corsair 970 performs
in the most challenging conditions!
The sporty, foldable, trailerable Corsair 970 trimaran will routinely knock off double-digit boat speeds. Planing upwind with a reef? What else do you notice?
SPEED AND DISTANCE
All Corsair trimarans are built to withstand the most demanding conditions and the Corsair 970 is capable in two vital directions: speed and carrying capacity. Wherever you're planning to sail, you’ll get there in half the time of the monohull you might consider for your next trip.
• 180 Marine offers a broader price range from Corsair and Dragonfly.
From $50,000 to over $1 million for 40-foot passage makers.
• Unique Planning Guides to confirm realistic price points and owner options that our most recent customers have chosen to meet their cruising and racing goals.
• Transparency on builder-installed options with realistic budgets for first-year ownership costs. Even turn-key solutions installed here in the U.S. for better quality and support.
The 970 is known as the “Swiss army knife” of trimarans – equally adept at cruising, racing, and passage-making.
The power-to-weight ratio stands unequaled in a 32-foot trimaran.
COMFORTABLE ON THE WATER
The 970 has a remarkably low heel and feels light and easy to manage on the helm. So, while you keep a boat that retains serious offshore credentials, you achieve performance figures to turn the dial red.
The combination of performance from the award-winning Corsair C31 and the spacious comfort of the Corsair 37! The Cruze 970 is an exciting model with a great sailing pedigree and packed with fantastic features.
Prior to the development of the 32ft Cruze 970, over 300 C31s were delivered to owners all around the world making this model one of the most successful trimarans in the world. The C31 was chosen for its great sailing qualities & rugged construction for a number of epic adventures in the Arctic including an incredible voyage through the notorious North West and East West Passages in a single season. However, most were used for cruising and racing.
The Corsair Cruze 970 builds on the popular C31 design, offering more comfort and features like the larger C37. It is slightly longer than the C31, with a raised deck that provides about 15% more interior space. The saloon area has full standing headroom and features a clean, white GRP liner. The galley is larger, with extra drawers and storage. Both the forward and aft bunks are longer and wider for better accommodation. The 970 also includes a fully enclosed head for privacy.
The more functional cockpit has been extended and an aft deck mainsheet track facilitates free movement within the cockpit. The raised, side seating increases both comfort and visibility (a great design feature taken from the highly successful C37).
For sailing performance, the high volume floats have been designed with additional buoyancy giving the Corsair Cruze 970 greater stability and comfort for all her passengers.
Watch the video below the Corsair Cruze 970 sails up to 19.8 knots, with plenty of buoyancy in the floats! The video has good information in it, BUT you may want to turn the sound down because of the horribly annoying music!
Corsair’s reliable folding system simplifies road trailering. The retractable dagger-board and rudder allow for floating in shallow water or beaching during outings. The Corsair Cruze 970 includes a roller furling jib, mainsail, two-burner propane stove, 39-gallon freshwater tank, washbasin with shower, floor drain with sump pump, and a marine head with a 13-gallon holding tank. Additional options like refrigeration and autopilot are available upon ordering.

Longer amas and bows that are more plumb and hull forms with less rocker add 20 percent more buoyancy to this boat while retaining similar beam dimensions. The result is a more stable platform. The keel and rudder for the original 31 had been optimized for boat speeds between 3 and 10 knots. Incorporating the lessons from those 300 boats, today’s 970 features much thinner, higher-aspect-ratio foils optimized for speeds in the teens and higher. (A note to those who haven’t sailed Corsairs before: Those boat speeds are real. Try it!)
