Corsair 760 New Radical Redesign
Introducing Corsair Marines newest pocket cruiser, the Corsair 760. This new trailerable trimaran is destined to bring trailer sailing to the next level. Originating from the ever popular Corsair 24 and 750 range this new model has received a radical redesign by our partners at Perus Yacht Design.
Corsair 760 Wave Piercing Floats
The 760 offers sailors more comfort, performance and safety than any other trimaran range in this size. This has been achieved by cleverly designing high volume, wave piercing floats. Offering additional buoyancy and significantly increasing the vessels righting moments. Superior safety is inherent in the design and construction of the Corsair boats.
Corsair 760 Overhead View
Superior safety is inherent in the design and construction of Corsair boats and it stems from the same features that make them sail flat and fast. Corsairs can’t sink. In fact, with the hulls filled to the brim with water, the positive buoyancy of the materials of construction keep the vessel afloat even with all crew aboard.
Some things deserved to be new, some things didn't...
The 760 has a new rig. However with the same sail dimensions and slightly different sail profile. Now it's a split rig, with the same sail area.
Incredibly Strong Beam Support on the Corsair 760
Beams are the same style as the Pulse 600 and better for deflecting water. 180 Marine is hosting a Webinar January 4, 2017 where you can ask experts to assess the design details. Each design from Corsair, Dragonfly and Farrier is “right” for a certain sailing style and personality. So keep exploring, to make the smartest decision.
Lower Rocker Design
Larger volume floats with reverse bows and a low center of buoyancy offer a 15% increase in righting moment and a 2.5° reduction in heel angle at comparable wind speeds. The lower rocker design also reduces pitching and hobby horsing. All these features will offer significant performance gains but do not come at the sacrifice of safety. In fact, with the larger righting moments and ultra modern float design the safety factor is significantly increased.
The bow pulpit incorporates a mast support for trailering, eliminating the need for a separate part.
Larger-Volume Floats
The beams are significantly larger than the previous DASH, primarily to take the additional loads of the added buoyancy and righting moments. These beam profiles offer less windage and better water deflection.
The large-volume floats with wave piercing bows have increased beam clearance over the waves. Beams are the same style as on the Pulse 600 and more effective for deflecting water.
Like all Corsair trimarans, the 760 is built to withstand the toughest conditions.
Colligo Chainplate Distributor with Dyneema Lashing Line
Colligo Dux is fast becoming known as the safest standing rigging you can buy.
Safety - It's fully inspectable. All of the line is exposed, the end fittings and splices allow for this. Unlike a swage fitting in wire, where you cannot see the internal corrosion, you can see all of the dux, just set up an inspection schedule and check it once in while like you should the rest of your boat systems.
The 2 failure modes, chafe and uv present visable cues. From both chafe and UV, the line gets fuzzy when damaged, this is almost like a flashing red light as the fuzziness contrasts so much with the normal smoothness of the line. Keep in mind also that the line will be 2-5 times stronger than the steel rigging it replaced so you can tolerate some damage to the line and still be safe.
Corsair 760 Folds Quickly and Easily
Being able to easily fold and quickly trailer is an important feature for all Corsair trimarans and is a feature that will make the 760 such a great choice for people looking to get out on the water and have fun with minimal effort. (and...you don't need to be an amazon man)
Corsair 760 Acrylic Window Pop Top
Pop top hatch lifts up for full standing headroom...and it's multidirectional...so it can also slide forward, or be semi-raised. The pop-top has an acrylic window built in, allowing more light into the cabin.
Composite high-aspect rudder with carbon rudder case is now standard. Composite daggerboard is an available upgrade option.
Corsair 760 Exterior Storage
Float lockers are extremely spacious.

Hull number 1 just shipped for its World Premier at the Dusseldorf boat show in January. Hull 2 and 3 are already sold and heading to Europe. In the U.S. if you want to be sailing a new 760, your first chance to own one is Hull number 4. Plans are in the works for April 2017 delivery. If you're considering any of these three premier trimarans, take a close look.

Reversed bows and high volume floats
The Corsair 760 offers sailors more comfort, performance and safety than our previous designs. This has been achieved by cleverly designing ultra modern high-volume, wave-piercing floats. This design offers additional buoyancy to significantly increasing the vessel's righting moments and safety margins.
